The lengths some people go to in an effort to avoid work...

11:00 Lisa comes in and asks her, "Do you want to take a smoke break?"

"Sure, I've been working pretty hard." She reminds me of the auto mechanic on MASH who would sleep under the cars and then when it was lunch time he would wake up and say, "Oh good, I could use a break."

11:15 Again, she crept down the back hall and scared Tony, then came back up front to tell me about it. I told her I thought he was probably trying to get some work done. She took a call, then went back to discuss the nature of the recent scare with Tony.

11:40 Before you know it, it's time for this discussion:

"Have you ever had the calamari from Rockne's? I can't decide if I should get the calamari and a side salad or the shrimp scatter. I've never had it, but they say it's a "heaping portion," and if they say that, it's probably huge. Does Becky eat seafood? [NOTE: Becky is a vegetarian who hasn't eaten intentionally any animal flesh in over 3 years. Recently had to stop eating her favorite dish at a local Mexican restaurant when she discovered that the beans are made with a meat broth. No wonder it tasted so good.]
I'll go ask her if she's ever had it.

11:55 Oh good: she's made a decision for the shrimp basket, and she's wrangled 4 others into getting lunch from Rockne's. so she's collected money, taken orders and phoned it in.

12:05pm Now she's calling her sister-in-law to tell her that there is an opening in our firm for a part-time assistant. "...and if you worked here, it would be fun. We could go to lunch together, I could get on your nerves..."

Wait a minute - I thought that was my job.
